Patrick Goodman

I will tell you for nothing, Treyva is going to be some kind of pissed off.

In the meantime, do we go after him or stick to the actual damn mission?

Chief Dhall turns his head thoughtfully and wonders, "Maybe they're taking a more direct route because their man is hurt and slowing them down?"
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Ally nods doubtfully, "You might be right, Chief. Overwatch, we're going to assume Alpha is sticking to the plan with slight alteration. Please pass on to bridge the current sitrep. Gamma out."
"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

Nolmir

"Will do, Gamma," Fryling replies, then flags down the senior officer on duty to pass on the current state of affairs. Once he returns his full attention to the ship's sensors, he keeps a special eye on Styles' team in case they find themselves in trouble.

OOC: I think we're just going to have to hope for the best at the moment, right? Seems like more people rushing in would just make them more likely to get caught.

Patrick Goodman

Yeah, stay on mission. Chasing Styles won't rescue that crew.

Say, here's a dumb idea I just now thought of...actually calling, you know, Styles....

Tann-Tyra smacked her forehead. Opening her own communicator, she intoned, "Beta Leader to Alpha Leader. We've lost visual contact with you. Do you require assistance?"

Cole listens carefully as Tann-Tyra hails Styles' team.

"Should have known things were going too well, Ally", Cole whispers under his breath.

Doug Burke

Ally smiled at Cole. "You know what they say, sir, about the best laid plans..."
"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

"Needed to take a shortcut, Beta," Styles replies. "We'll meet you at the target."

As the line closes, Dhall appears less than satisfied with the answer, even as it seems to validate his speculation; however, the chief keeps any thoughts he may have to himself.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

A reminder, especially to myself: Just because I am deeply suspicious of Captain Styles doesn't mean our characters should be. He's done nothing, that I can recall, to arouse suspicion on the part of our characters.

That said, Dhall seems leery now....

"What's on your mind, Chief?" the young Deltan woman asked..

"I was just wondering, Ensign; did they bring hyposprays for pain or injury? A small medkit?" he asks. "I saw the petty officer turn his ankle; it looked pretty bad, and his pain was genuine."

The chief shakes his head. "I don't know. Scuttlebutt I got from his crew is that that Styles fellow is hard charger, and he frequently pushes them to the limits of their knowledge and endurance. It goes against the 'by the book' reputation he's garnered throughout the fleet. I just hope the prize he's seeking isn't bigger than his sense of welfare for his people."
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

She nodded. "Perhaps we should take it up with our captain when we get back." She turned to include Cole. "I think we should finish the mission first, worry about Styles later."

Cole nodded in agreement. "Let's stick to the schedule, people. Move out, and keep your wits about you." He paused and looked into the distance.
"We can do without any more unscheduled diversions."

Davy, aka GM

OOC: Says the fellow who has a dog following him...
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."
