The two teams continue forward, the ursine pet following along next to Cole and Ally, and they're soon nearing where the stream flows under the wall. To the southwest, they see the small foot bridge; it seems awfully exposed to the open, but the officers don't see any villagers up and around.

Cole's objective is about 50-60 meters further beyond along the stream.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Renny

OOC: OK, so what can we see of the building. Any sign of an entrance that we can see?

Davy, aka GM

OOC: The building is one of the few three-story buildings in the village, and straddles the river, with the ox bridge passing through the first floor. Given your distance, you can't see an entrance, but there are a couple of shuttered windows each on the second and third floors on your facing. It's possible that ground access is through the inside walls framing the ox bridge.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

Is most of the rest of the village dark? I mean, it is night (though I realize it's not terribly late since we beamed down shortly after sunset).

I guess, more to the point, are most of the windows shuttered?

OOC: You folks can see 9-10 windows from your vantage point on the north side of the stream, next to the wall. All but one have shutters. The one without is on a known smithy, and the window in question is more like an arrow slit. All of the shutters are closed on the other windows.

In the smithy window, there's a faint glow of orange light emanating from it. There's also a faint pinhole of orange-yellow light occasionally flickering through a small knot or cutout of one of the shuttered windows on the second floor of Cole's target building (as if a candle is lit and can be seen).
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Tann-Tyra looked at the large building in the center of the village, then to the bridge, and then to Cole. Motioning to the bridge, she said, "This is where I get off. Good luck, sir."

Cole nodded in response.

"Good luck to you, too. Keep your head down."

Renny

Cole turned to Ally and the two security specialists bringing up the rear.

"Ally, once we're close enough to the building, let's run a tricorder scan and see if we can determine how many people are inside.
Nice and quiet , folks. Let's move out"

#323
The two groups split up near the foot bridge, Cole and party continuing along the banks of the stream, while Tann-Tyra and her team taking the bridge across to the other side.

As the ensign passes the building on the other side of the bridge, she notices that smoke is rising from a low chimney, and that the klink of metal striking metal can be heard within. She has two possible paths to take: one would put her on the southeast corner of the large, three-story and the ox bridge, and the other would take her between a bunch of small houses.

Cole's team reaches the easternmost known smithy and they can hear the sounds of crafting coming from it. Just a head of that smithy is the second of the three known. Suddenly, a brief flash of light lights up the side wall of the thin arrow slit opening on the south side, accompanied by the telltale sound of a phaser on stun. They also see one of the Rostov's security guards (the uninjured one) hiding herself from view as she watches the pathway ahead of her (the road to the ox bridge).

OOC: You've both traveled about one section (25m) from your diverging point at the footbridge. Cole's team is marked C, and Tann-Tyra's is marked T.

Incidentally, I see no map with us on it.

OOC: It would probably help if I actually attached it...you should see it in the post now.

Cole holds his hand up to bring the team to an immediate halt, and then gestures for the two guards to go left and right, keeping low. He draws his own weapon and waits to see what response this incident brings, if any, from the rest of the village.

Patrick Goodman

I know we asked, but I don't recall the answer. Did we find a way to silence the tricorders? I want to scan that building for later, but don't want an angry mob, either.
