OOC: OTOH, I'm inclined to give you each 1 bonus point of Determination if you split the party. :D
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Doug Burke

My first instinct is village. Determination is tempting, though...
"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

Nolmir

OOC: I'm in favor of saving the camp as well; Styles knew what he was getting into. But I do agree the Determination is tempting.

Renny

OOC: I honestly think we have to protect the camp. As noted, Styles is a big boy.

Davy, aka GM

OOC: So, the consensus, it seems that you folks will protect the Tyreen camp from the flank attack?
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

OOC: This will be an opposed extended task challenge. The landing party will be attempting to outmaneuver and pin down the Apellans, who are seeking to deal damage to the heart of the Tyreen camp.

All tasks are vs. Difficulty 2
Work = 20
Magnitude = 6
Starting Resistance = 0

The skills you folks may use are:
Tobin: Insight + Security, assisted by the ship's Sensors + Security
The Other PCs: Control + Security, Daring + Security, Fitness + Security, Daring + Command, or Daring + Medicine

Each player must attempt at least one task in the challenge. Supporting characters in the landing party can assist one landing party PC each round (Tobin is assisted by the ship's sensors), using one of the "Other" Security tasks.

Who's rolling first for the PCs?
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

Treyva sighed and flipped open his communicator. "Naturally," he said. He paused a moment, considering his options. "Captain Styles is a capable soldier; I think he can find a way out on his own. We're going to move to defend the camp. Keep us informed. Treyva out."

I guess I will.

Treyva Daring + Command Task (9/5), TN14
Lead by Example Focus may apply
Rolled 2d6 : 2, 3, total 5

On my phone, so will worry about assists laterm

OOC: I think you rolled 2d6 there.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

Of course I did....

Not quite as impressive, but quite nice since they're on the correct probability curve this time....

Two successes, three if Lead by Example applies. If it does, that is one Momentum that I wish to apply to the Work track.

Which Supporting Characters are available? I forgot who's being played and who's along for the ride....

OOC: Patrick, let me know if you want to have one of the supporting characters (Tann-Tyra, Dietrich, Kowalski) assist you on your roll.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

I shall have Tann-Tyra assist me, but what do you mean by "other Security Tasks"? Something that I didn't use, or something that wasn't listed in the initial post for the Task explanation?

I'm assuming the former.

Tann-Tyra Fitness + Security Assist (10/4)
Rolled 1d20 : 12, total 12

Let's see what happens.

All right, if I interpreted things correctly, she successfully assisted. I don't know how many challenge dice I need to roll to determine Work, though.
