The Apellans get out of the dead end, but find themselves out in the open.

Well, some good, some not so good ... and not much hope that the Challenge Dice will be great for him, with his rank of 1 in Security, he only gets 3 for this. Yikes. But I count 1 Complication and 2 Momentum.

The Complication will be a Dead End, and cost you 4 Work.


The landing party briefly loses sight of the Apellans as the latter scramble for cover; Tann-Tyra, from her own cover, surreptitiously calls the bridge for assistance. Tobin searches for the group, but, in the fog of war, mistakes the Deltan security officer for Styles' first officer, and begins relaying position data for that fight until he catches himself.

It takes a moment to reorient sensors and find the landing party, and he then proceeds to give the ensign the correct report - the Apellans have found a solid defensive position to regroup, not far from her position. He tells them to prepare for a fight.

OOC: Spending 2 of the 3 Momentum to add Work, Tobin scores 5 Work, achieving another Breakthrough. All further Work rolls will add 1[CD].

You folks have 1 Momentum still outstanding. Do you want to bank or spend it? (You have 5 Momentum currently in the pool.)

The following takes place before Cole's actions.


Having regrouped, the Apellans begin to take the fight to the landing party.

OOC: Cole gets 3 Successes vs. Difficulty 0. Success, plus 3 Momentum generated. With the 1 Momentum given to you folks by the Apellans (I went ahead and banked Tobin's last outstanding Momentum), you must spend 4 Momentum or lose them.

Because you gents have had your third breakthrough, all Work rolls are now at +1[CD]. So, Renny, please roll 1 additional [CD] for Cole, please.

So far, without any Momentum spent, Cole has performed 4 Work. With three null rolls (pending the result of the 8th die), it might be beneficial to spend 1 Momentum to re-roll those dice.
