OOC: Ooh, Klingons, perhaps?

Insight 9 + Science 5 vs. Difficulty 2
Rolled 2d20 : 2, 6, total 8

Ship's assist: Sensors 9 + Science 2
'' is not a valid dice string!

Nolmir

Whoops, fixing the ship's die roll:
Rolled 1d20 : 14, total 14

Davy, aka GM

OOC: 2 Successes for Tobin, but no help from the ship's sensors. Also, I forgot to note that the ship's Advanced Sensor Suites reduces the Difficulty of the task to 1.

So, 2 Successes vs. Difficulty 1. Success, plus 1 Momentum generated. Tobin's Science Officer role allows him to spend 1 free Momentum on Obtain Information.

Tobin discovers it's a transporter signal, and the beam is coming from that hilltop Klingon relay. It looks like someone is being picked up from the location he first discovered the beam.

OOC: Okay, Nolmir, you have one question you can ask, and you can ask one additional question per Momentum point you spend.

The Wounded
Cole - Injury/Stable (2 Complications)
Kowalski - Injury/Stable

Current
Momentum 3 (1 pending, Tobin)
Threat 0

Advantages & Complications
Well-Oiled Machine Advantage (when a PC or supporting character assists a PC on a shipboard task)
More Aggressive Strategy Advantage (Tyreen)
Educated Guess Advantage (when using ship's sensors to actively scan for cloaked ships)
Trauma Shock Complication (Cole; Injury-related Complication)
Massive Internal Injuries (Cole; Injury-related Complication)
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Davy, aka GM

OOC: Quick ping, Nolmir. Tobin has at least one question to ask (and more if he wants to spend Momentum).
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Nolmir

OOC: Sorry, guys, busy weekend. Can Tobin determine where the other end of the transporter beam is? If so, that's the question I'd like answered.

Davy, aka GM

OOC: Using Science Officer Role Obtain Information.

Tobin follows the vector of the energy signature; as he predicts, it bounces off the relay and continues at a downward angle right to the cloaked scout ship.

As he's confirming his findings, the energy and heat readings on the B'Rel surge, as if it's powering up all systems.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

What, he asks innocently, is our current alert status? I want to say "Yellow" but I've slept since then....

OOC: The Drake is currently at Yellow Alert, with shield generators charged (bridge defense field up only) and phaser banks charged (i.e., Mr. Scott's favored form of diplomacy).

"The cloaked B'Rel appears to be powering up," Tobin announces to the bridge as he re-opens the comm channel to the transporter room. "Captain, a transporter beam just transited to that Klingon scout ship Thadis and I intercepted comms from earlier. I'd say they're making ready for liftoff."

Patrick Goodman

Personally, I think we ought to get ready to say hello. What do you guys think?

"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

No, that would never do at all....

"Shields up; take us to red alert," Treyva said. "Helm, prepare to intercept them. I'm on my way."

The Vulcan steps aside and gestures for the captain to precede him. With that, they both head to the bridge.
