OOC: Have replied in chat to Patrick's suggestion but would would assume a tricorder scan of the hrisal would be the obvious place to start. Also, check internal sensor logs to see if it's possible to build up a picture of those who might have access to the rec lockers during the time before and after the incident to see if it was possible for someone to have retrieved the weapon, carried out the attack and returned it to it's storage. Not sure how feasible this would be but Cole can detail some people to work on it.

Davy, aka GM

OOC: For the tricorder can, this would be a Reason + Science task vs. Difficulty 2, reduced to Difficulty 1 due from the tricorder.

I'd call the second task an Insight + Security task vs. Difficulty 1, assisted by the ship's Computers + Security.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Nolmir

OOC: Can definitely have Tobin do a tricorder scan to start -- looking mainly for presence of Vulcan blood, dirt, etc., and/or signs of tampering. I'll just make the roll now to keep things moving.

Tobin Reason (11) + Science (5), vs. Difficulty 1:
Rolled 2d20 : 6, 10, total 16

Davy, aka GM

OOC: In the chat, Doug said, "Agreed. I also want to look into the peace ties. How hard to duplicate, could a non-Andorian do it, who do we have record of having the skill,  etc. Make sure we image the pattern on currently before removing it,  as well."

This, I think, would be a Reason + Science task vs. Difficulty 3, since we're delving deep into Andorian culture.

Now, Tobin's tricorder scan. 2 Successes vs. Difficulty 1. Success, plus 1 Momentum generated!

Current
Momentum 4 (1 pending, Tobin)
Threat 10

The tricorder reveals no traces of blood, Vulcan or otherwise, nor any evidence of cleaning agents that would remove blood. The only substance on the blade is a light coating of mineral oil.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Would I get an assist from the shop since I'm using the ship's computers? Also,  I assume my Computers focus would also apply...
"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

Davy, aka GM

OOC: If you're going to lean on the ship's databanks for information, then, yes, Computers + Security to assist. And Sorak's Computers focus will be useful.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Nolmir

OOC: Can I use Tobin's bonus Momentum from Chief Science Officer on Obtain Information to determine how long ago the mineral oil had been applied?

Davy, aka GM

OOC: Absolutely!

Tobin determines the mineral oil was applied in the last 72 hours...making it very likely that this was one of the last things Thadis did before he was arrested.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

OOC: I'll roll for the internal security task -

Insight (9) + Security (5) vs Diff 1, assisted by Computers (7) + Science (2)

Rolled 2d20 : 17, 10, total 27

Renny

OOC: Oof, 1 success so ship assists -

Rolled 1d20 : 13, total 13

OOC: As for the Momentum generated on Tobin's tricorder scan, if I use that for Obtain Information, can Tobin determine if there is any trace of genetics and/or fingerprints on the hrisal aside from Thadis'?

Davy, aka GM

OOC: Acknowledging spending 1 Momentum to Obtain Information. Note that, thanks to Tobin's Studious talent, he can ask an additional question.

Cole earns 1 Success vs. Difficulty 1. Success!

Current
Momentum 4
Threat 10

Tobin pores over the tricorder data, and can only find Thadis' fingerprints on the handle and scabbard, and can find no genetic evidence of anyone other than Thadis having handled the weapon.

There are no logs kept of rec room access, and most lockers aren't assigned to any individual crewmember; such lockers, when used, are securable via a specific code created by the crewmember at the time of use. These codes are logged, but the crewmember who inputs the code isn't. (Of course, given that theft is pretty much non-existent on the ship, many crewmembers never even bother to engage the locks.) However, lockers that are set aside for personal weapons are assigned and logged.

Cole's security records indicates only Thadis has accessed his locker since he was first assigned it more than a year ago.

Sorak's Reason + Science task. In addition to my Computers focus and the assistance of the ship, I'd like to spend a Momentum to get another die.

Reason (11) + Science (4), vs. Difficulty 3:

Rolled 3d20 : 14, 8, 11, total 33

And the assist...
[Drake]'s assist with Computers (7) + Security (3):

Rolled 1d20 : 12, total 12
