Assisting Cole.

"Lieutenant," Sorak interjects. "I can assure you that my mate and her colleagues are interested only in finding the truth. They would not tolerate being expected to participate in any sort of 'public lynching'."
"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

OOC: 1d20 Presence + Command for Sorak, then, please.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

OOC: I think this calls for a Presence + Command task vs. Difficulty 2. Because Thadis respects Cole as a warrior, Cole will receive an additional d20 to roll on his task.

Oh, and Cole did generate 2 Momentum on his last task. It's available for him to spend.

OOC: Ok thanks.

Presence (8) + Command (3) vs Difficulty 2

Rolled 3d20 : 7, 2, 6, total 15

Davy, aka GM

OOC: Rolling Sorak's assist for expedience.
Sorak Presence + Command Assist
Rolled 1d20 : 9, total 9
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Davy, aka GM

OOC: Cole achieves 3 Successes, and Sorak adds 1 Success of his own. Success, plus 2 Momentum generated.

Thadis looks from Cole to Sorak and back again. He closes his eyes and draws a breath, letting it out slowly as he mouths something silently.

Returning his gaze to Cole, he says, "My hrisal is in my locker on the rec deck. But I wore it only ceremonially, on the left and peace tied, as per regulations. It never left its scabbard outside the rec deck."

OOC: If your character has Focuses in both Linguistics and Lip Reading, I'll let you know what he mouthed. ;)

Current
Momentum 2 (2 pending, Cole)
Threat 10

Cole pauses for just a second.
"Thank you, Lieutenant." He turns to T'Kiri. "Investigator, with your permission i'll have my security team secure the weapon so it can be checked for forensic evidence."

Davy, aka GM

"That would be agreeable," she replies. "Of course, the security department facilities of a Constellation-class cruiser are more than sufficient for such a task, and your people are likely as qualified as mine to conduct forensic testing. By treaty, reports generated by you are fully acceptable in our legal system."
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Treyva turned to his security chief. "See to it personally as soon as we return to the ship, Mr. Cole," he said.

Treyva nodded in acknowledgment, then turned to T'Kiri. "In the interest of maintaining impartiality, I would appreciate either you or one of your officers accompanying us to the Drake as an observer, someone to, as the Humans put it, keep us honest."

"My officers and I are part of your investigation team, Captain," T'Kiri responds. "Therefore, we are at your full disposal."

OOC: Do you folks have anything else to add before we move on?
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Tobin clears his throat. "Thadis, I have a, uh, friend of a friend here on Vulcan who is a solicitor. If it would be agreeable to you, I can have her contact you -- I think a local legal advisor would be quite advantageous." He pauses slightly. "I would trust her daughter with my life, so I have no doubt T'Vaana-Sath would do her utmost for you."

Davy, aka GM

OOC: The name T'Vaana-Sath is not one Sorak knows; and it appears neither does T'Kiri.

"I would second that counsel," T'Kiri says to the Andorian.

Thadis nods a bit hesitantly, then responds, "Yes. Okay. Please contact her."

The discussion ends and T'Kiri leads the crew out the way they came. She dispatches Officer T'Ara to inquire about the cause of the GolanKorsta mine collapse, and Officer Ayhan to gather the latest findings of the day's investigations; both will join the crew on the Drake when their tasks are completed.

T'Kiri accompanies her husband and the rest of the crew back to the ship, where Cole dispatches a team to recover Thadis' hrisal from the rec deck lockers and bring it to Tobin's personal lab. It arrives still in its "tied down for peace" position, an intricate lacing of the handle to the scabbard that shows a level of artistry in its crafting.

OOC: How do you folks want to proceed with the forensic examination?
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."
