Cole signals for O'Neill to hold position at the foot of the stairs and then waves for the Chief to follow him upstairs. Cole treads lightly up the staircase, the emitter of his phaser probing ahead and his eyes darting left and right searching for any signs of movement.

Treyva pushed the button on the science console's comm panel. "Treyva to Sorak. Have Cole and his team gone in yet? We show three Vulcan lifesigns on the upper story, northwest side. Unless one of your siblings are visiting, I'm betting that's our suspect."

Sorak paused before following Cole's team into the house and opened his communicator to quietly reply, "Cole's team has just entered the house. T'Kiri and I are about to follow. Current position of suspect relative to other life signs on that level would be useful."
"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

Cole
O'Neil moves inside the kitchen as Cole and Chief Morais head upstairs. Cole finds a darkened small family kitchenette/dining area; a door on the other side of the table should lead to the balcony area over the main hall (and to the rest of the rooms on the second floor).

Sorak & T'Kiri
The Vulcan first officer decides to take the direct route to the security control station, which he knows to be just beyond the opposite end of the main hall. Pressing the biometric sensor next to the nearest set of double doors, he enters with T'Kiri following just behind.

As he makes a beeline for the doors to the statue room, she slows, on the lookout for any potential dangers; just as Sorak passes through the doors and reaches the security panel, he hears his mate shout, "V'Kor! Halt!"

Cole
Cole also hears T'Kiri's shout echoing up from the stairs below.

All
A moment later, everyone hears a Vulcan-design transporter effect begin to whine...

OOC: One combat round actions for Cole and Sorak, please...
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

#454
Hearing his mate's shouted command, Sorak turned away from the security panel and rushed back into the main hall, his weapon ready. He noted T'Kiri's sightline, aimed his weapon based on her focus and decided to take the stairs to the second level.
"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

OOC: Would we notice the transporter on board the ship?

OOC: Oh, yes, Tobin would spot that on sensors, since he's watching.

Bridge
Tobin notices one of the Vulcan figures on the second floor is starting to beam out of the building.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Cole moves to the door to the balcony. If it's closed, he will open it. If open, he will use a Ready action until the chief is in a position to cover his move into the balcony area.

OOC: Is it possible for Tobin to trace the transporter signal to the destination?

OOC: To trace the transporter signal, this will be an Insight + Science task vs. Difficulty 2, assisted by the ship's Sensors + Science. The increased difficulty is because, even at night, Vulcan's transporter network remains pretty busy.

To intercept the signal, it will first require that Tobin succeeds in tracing it (see above). The other issue, besides general transporter activity crisscrossing the planet, is that this isn't some individual transporter beam on an isolated world; Vulcan's transporter network is designed to be secure and prevent the very thing the Drake's crew is potentially attempting to do. As such, it's a Control + Engineering task vs. Difficulty 4, assisted by the ship's Sensors + Engineering.

Once I have a decision on Treyva's captainy thing, I'll move forward with the scene.

Patrick Goodman

OOC: Has Tobin told Treyva about this? Would Treyva notice anything on his own since he's standing there next to Tobin?

OOC: All 23rd Century science stations have sensor hoods, so no...unless you elbow Tobin out of the way... ;)
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Nolmir

OOC: In this situation, Tobin would announce the transporter signal and start tracing it as soon as it appears.
