OOC: Looks like 1 Success for Sorak's roll, as I didn't see anything in his list of Focuses that would directly apply to modifying sensors, and no help from the shuttle itself.

That said, since Sorak asked specifically for Nikolai to assist him, go ahead and make an assist roll. This also brings into play the "Well Oiled Machine" Advantage, which will further reduce the Difficulty to 0.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Renny

OOC: I'll roll for Cole now so as not to slow down the narrative

Cole Reason (8) + Security (5) task (total 13), Difficulty 2

Rolled 2d20 : 5, 13, total 18

Brahe Sensors (4) + Security (0) Assist (total 4)

Rolled 1d20 : 11, total 11

Renny

OOC: So that would be two successes if I read that correctly

Doug Burke

OOC: Computers focus might help with data transfer, but not sensor configuration...

Nikolai Control (10) + Engineering (4) assist (TN 14)

Rolled 1d20 : 8, total 8
"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

OOC: Nikolai provides 1 Success, bringing Sorak's total to 2 Successes vs. modified Difficulty 0. Success, plus 2 Momentum generated. Cole has the Advantage "Calibrated for Klingons & Klingon Technology."

Cole achieves 2 Successes vs. modified Difficulty 1. Success, plus 1 Momentum generated.

Between the two of you, you need to spend 2 Momentum.

Current
Momentum 5 (3 pending - Sorak (2), Cole (1); 2 Momentum must be spent or lost)
Threat 11

Well-Oiled Machine Advantage (when a PC or supporting character assists a PC on a shipboard task)
More Aggressive Strategy Advantage (Tyreen)

The two engineers are able to quickly configure the Brahe's sensors to specifically look for Klingon physiology and technology; Cole is soon underway, taking the Class G shuttle down into the atmosphere. He keeps his altitude high to minimize the chance of visual detection and performs several sweeps over the string of Apellan camps near the "front."

He finds three Klingons in field dress (no battle armor) together in the central camp, with a group of four Apellans in a large tent.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

TOLD YOU they were still here!!

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure the Brahe is a G-type, not an F-type.

I'd like to create an advantage. My thinking is that, while configuring the sensors, Sorak had an idea for how to better detect cloaked ships using the Drake 's sensors. We could call it "Educated Guess" or something similar. But if that's reaching too far, I'll think of something else.

OOC: Yeah, it's Class G; but, since they use Class F stats, my brain was on the latter. Fixed.

OOC: I'll allow the Advantage, effective to the end of the episode; however, it's only applicable when actively scanning for cloaked ships.

OOC: I guess it goes without saying but Cole will report his findings back.

Davy, aka GM

Cole reports his findings from the shuttle as he completes his run and heads back to the Drake.

OOC: Okay, gents, what do you want to do next? If you're at a loss, I have something in mind for Styles.

You're about 8 hours from the front edge of the attack window (hour 38 of 46); it's five hours 'til dawn at the Tyreen camp, when the last 20-ish of the initial 120 men will wake to receive their training (which will be done by hour 46).

Sorak's team has so far provided 281 of the 400 rifles, along with more than 28,000 rounds of ammunition. (Each hour adds roughly 7.4 rifles and 741 rounds of ammunition. Sorak will have about 340 rifles and 34,000 rounds of ammunition manufactured in total by the end of hour 46.)

Training, of course, lags behind. Hours 46-50 will see another 40 hunters trained (think 20 per two-hour block), and hours 50-54 will see the last of the original 200 trained.

I'm okay letting Styles lead. I'm a little busy.

Renny

OOC: Yeah works for me also. With training and equipping underway, there's not much Cole can offer to speed the process up at the moment

Nolmir

OOC: Yep, works for me too. In light of the news that there are definitely still Klingons on the planet, Tobin will be making extra sure the ship keeps an eye out for any signs of Klingon ships, but I've got nothing besides that.

Doug Burke

Let's makes it unanimous. I'm good with Styles moving things along, as well.
