If you enjoy my work, why not buy me a coffee?

Doug Burke

I like the name idea. Works as well as my usual named for firearms manufacturers shtick.
"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

Davy, aka GM

OOC: My sci-fu is strong. :)

The reroll increases the damage to 8. That's more than enough to send both Apellans to the deck.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

Vasquez turned to Tann-Tyra and said, "Sir, I think we've worn out our welcome."

The two Apellans fall where they stand, one back into the room on the second floor, and the other on top of his prey.

OOC: The security guard in the Ox Bridge Building is the last character on either side who has not had a chance to act. No Momentum spend is necessary to retain the initiative. Renny & Doug, what do you want him to do?
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Doug Burke

Specialist Frost will use a minor action to choose Area effect and will fire on the two remaining Apellans. One Moment to Create Opportunity.

Frost phaser Task, Control + Security (10/2), TN12, D2
Rolled 3d20 : 5, 16, 20, total 41

And so the Dicebot has turned. *sigh*

OOC: "Frost, you're up!". Love the Aliens idea. I used the same notion for the security department on my old FASA Enterprise class cruiser from back in the day. Totally appropriate, I think.

Davy, aka GM

As luck would have it, Cole steps in the way of the knife-wielding Apellan craftsman and takes the edge of the wide-angle beam, while the other Apellan just escapes it on the other side.

OOC: Specialist Frost Phaser II non-lethal damage 5d6
Rolled 5d6 : 6, 6, 3, 4, 2, total 21
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Davy, aka GM

Now, like every other security trainee and Operations Branch cadet, Cole has been shot with a phaser on stun. At the time, it was on the lowest possible setting, and he doesn't remember being rendered unconscious by it, but, boy, did it sting.

This was worse. An order of magnitude worse. Like his whole back is on pins and needles.

OOC: Cole takes 4 non-lethal Stress.

And, remember, you have Determination (Cole has 2); use it!
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

BY all means, he should use it. He's the only one in this scenario that has it....

OOC: I think that's the end of the round. Since you folks took the last Turn in the round, the Apellans will act first in Round 2.

Current available actors on both sides are:
Federation
Cole, Tann-Tyra, Ally, Dhall, Vasquez, Frost, & "Jimmy" (whom we'll call Hudson)

Apellans
Ox Bridge Building: The Older Fella, the Younger Craftsman

There are still Apellans coming back from the NW. If they get wind of any action (or notice things are out of sorts), they'll come into play.

I'll write up the first actor's actions in a bit. I need to go get a coffee...
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Renny

Cole tries hard to stifle a groan as he catches the edge of the phaser beam, cursing his slow reactions as his back erupts with pain. He nearly succeeds.

Davy, aka GM

OOC: The coffee turned into a bunch of work.

The older Apellan continues his flight and disappears through the door.

OOC: The Apellans will spend 2 Momentum to retain the initiative.

The other Apellan in the room gives up on the idea of retrieving his knife and simply tries to punch the intruder out.

OOC: "Speaking" Craftsman Daring + Security (8/1) vs. Difficulty 1, opposed by Cole's Daring + Security vs. Difficulty 1.
Rolled 2d20 : 13, 15, total 28
