OOC: Okay, with the Aim reroll, that's 3 Successes vs. Difficulty 2. Success, plus 1 Momentum generated. It doesn't have to be spent immediately.

Damage is 9, plus 2 effects. Using Charge to provide Piercing 2, Resistance will be reduced by 4.

Cover Resistance Dice 5d6
Rolled 5d6 : 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, total 16
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Davy, aka GM

OOC: Apparently, her shot was so precise, the cover was of little help.

Resistance 1 reduced to 0. Apellan takes 9 non-lethal stress, and a non-lethal Injury.

Tann-Tyra paints the Apellan in blue-white energy and he falls away, the gun clattering to the ground.
"Course, sir?"

Bank it.

Can I Directa crewman still?

OOC: Direct is a Task, so you would need to spend 2 Momentum to perform Swift Task. This also means the Difficulty of the task being attempted by the directed character will be increased by 1.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

Gotcha.

Someone *cough* Dhall *cough* should take personal initiative and cut the door open....

OOC: What you can do is Seize the Initiative for 2 Momentum...
"Course, sir?"

Patrick Goodman

Let the other guys chime in first, but that's certainly on the table....

OOC: Sounds like a good move to me, let's spend the Momentum.

Dhall takes a second glance down at the sound of phaser fire. "Watch our backs," he says quietly to the crewman sent up to bar the doors, and takes the steps down two at a time. Taking in the situation, he stands to one side of the stairs and lifts his phaser. "Allow me to get the door, sir."

What do I roll for using the phaser to cut open the door?

Davy, aka GM

OOC: I'm going to say that, if Chief Dhall can't hit the broad side of a door, he should retire immediately or transfer to administration... ;)

No roll is required. Do you want to spend the time to cut out a hole in the door, or do you just want to vaporize it? ;)
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Nolmir

Gah, sorry for the delay guys. Let's go with the quick route and just vaporize it.

Davy, aka GM

The rectified beam lances out at the wooden door, which simply vanishes after a few seconds; the musket and its owner, both propped up by the erstwhile object, fall forward, one with a clatter and the other with a thud.

OOC: Wanted to get this out there. I'll follow up later this afternoon.

Current
Momentum 4

Davy, aka GM

OOC: And "this afternoon" turned into "tomorrow"...

From the stairs above, a door bursts open, revealing a pair of Apellan guards. They don't have muskets, but are wielding what look to be primitive knives. One rushes down to meet a waiting security guard.

OOC: Apellan Melee Attack Daring + Security (10/2) vs. Difficulty 1.
