OOC: Actually, shooting him is the more dramatic way to go, so I'm going to invoke "Go with Your Gut" against Cole. Since shooting him was the first thing you stated, I'm going to say that was his gut reaction and will give you a point of Determination to have Cole do just that.

Cole
Cole hesitates, not liking the implications of shooting the man...again. However, without a Vulcan standing next to him, the security officer couldn't risk discovery, especially dressed as a Tyreen. He fires his weapon, and the man falls still.

The security specialist clears his throat politely before walking to the window slit to peer out, then doing the same thing with the door, to see if anyone noticed the sound. Looking back to Cole, he shakes his head negatively.

"Understood, overwatch," comes Capt. Styles' reply over the open link. "Mr. Cole, find the gear and beam out. Ensign, bar your entryway and find my people; I'll do the same on my end."
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Renny

OOC: Ok that is awesome. Thanks.

Renny

Cole casts a final apologetic look at the figure slumped on the floor before heading for the door.

"Let's go, crewman. We need to get back to the others before this operation goes any further South."

Davy, aka GM

Cole arrives back at the storage room just as Ally pokes her head out.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Renny

Cole cast Banks a questioning look.

"Any sign of our gear?"

Patrick Goodman

"Aye, sir," she whispered into the communicator. She motioned for one of the crewmen to bar the door. To Dhall, she whispered, "We don't have time to neutralize whoever's upstairs. I'll lead the way downstairs; you bring up the rear and watch our backs."

"Gear located, sir," Ally whispers, "Upstairs, accompanied by three natives and what appears to be a single d'k tagh."
"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

Renny

OOC: Davy, how is the upstairs chamber accessed? Is it a ladder to a hatch, or is there a stairwell? Trying to figure out how best to pacify the room.

Davy, aka GM

Cole & Ally
OOC: The next door down has stairs leading up to the second floor.

The security specialist looked over his shoulder. "I think the returning Apellans are getting nearer, sir."

Tann-Tyra
The chief nods. "Aye, ma'am," he says in a low voice as he takes up a position near the top of the basement stairs, while one of the security specialists bars the doors to the outside as quietly as possible.

The ensign and the two junior specialists descend to a heavy wooden door, not barred on their side, with Dhall stopping about halfway down the stairs. She notices there's a small door view at eye level, with an iron basket covering it (probably to prevent a blade or hand being passed through it when opened).
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

"Ok, let's move out and retrieve our gear as ordered. Specialist, keep watch outside and signal if they get too close for comfort. You two.." he says, looking at Ally and the other security crewman, lets get next door and get up there. Weapons on stun, shoot only as a last resort."

OOC: My apologies; I should've been clearer. The door view is closed. Ally will either have to attempt to open the door, or try to poke something through to open the door view (assuming it's not latched).
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

Tann-Tyra, not having anything long and skinny, will try to open the door.

Cole & Ally
The specialist conveys his assent and takes up a crouched position in the darkness between the two doors, while Cole, Ally and the other specialist quietly slip inside and start up the stairs.

Tann-Tyra
The Deltan pulls on the door handle with care, and finds that it's barred. She then hears movement on the other side.

At the same time, Chief Dhall's eyes go wide and he whispers, "Ensign, I hear phaser fire." He points up the stairs to indicate the direction of the sound.

Cole & Ally
Reaching the top of the stairs, the trio find themselves in a large room that fills the entire width of the floor. A pair of long tables and their benches dominate the space, running roughly north to south, and a brick-and-mortar hearth sits along the opposite wall. Both the northerly and southerly walls have a door. Ally's earlier scan indicates that the equipment and the d'k tagh were located somewhere northward of their position.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Renny

OOC: Let's make for the door which leads us northward.

Cole signals for quiet and makes for the door which should lead to their gear. His phaser is out and he moves quietly.
