The ensign, not sure himself, looks to see if Cole has insight.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Cole only pauses for a moment, keen to support his Captains' wishes whilst also aware of Syles' scrutiny.

"Yes sir, we can adapt and make that work."

Patrick Goodman

The captain nodded and turned to Reed. "Do you have five more security men in your contingent, Mr. Reed?"

"Er, only four specialists, sir," Reed replies, almost embarrassed to admit it.

Styles clears his throat. "Unless you want me leading one of your crew's teams, Treyva, I'll lead my people," he says.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

Treyva shook his head. "You know the situation here better than just about anyone, Styles," he said. "Do you want equipment retrieval, or one of the rescue teams?"

"Rescue," he answers. "It's important for me to be there."
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

"I can certainly respect that," Treyva replied. "Very well, sir, you, Mr. Reed, and two of your specialists will be team one, and lead the rescue effort."

Turning to his own security chief, he said, "I'd like Lear and Fryling to remain up here on Tactical, in case we have unexpected company come calling. I want you in front of one team, and Tann-Tyra leading the other; give her Chief Dhall for moral support. Do you prefer rescue or retrieval ops?"

Cole nods at Treyva's question and a grin creeps onto his face.

"I'll take retrieval, sir. I'm confident that Tann-Tyra can bring our people home safely. When do you want us to beam down?"

Patrick Goodman

Treyva turned to Tobin. "Mr. Les, when is local sunset in that village?"

OOC: Given that I said it was mid-afternoon when the landing party first beamed down, that the trek to the campsite was 1.5-2 hours, and it took "less than an hour" to get the campsite cleared and everyone beamed up to the Drake, I'm going to say that sunset is right about....now.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Nolmir

Tobin glances up at the ceiling as he quickly calculates the answer in his head. "It should be sunset there now, sir."

Patrick Goodman

"If now is convenient," Treyva said to Styles and Cole, "you can gather your teams and report to Quartermaster for native garb for those who don't already have it, then to Sickbay for subcutaneous transponders."  He turned to Styles. "That should give you a chance to check up on your wounded, as well. By the time you're done there, it should be full dark on the surface. Is that satisfactory, Captain?"

"I think it is, Treyva. You know, for a scientist, you have a decent tactical mind," Styles responds. "Mr. Reed, have Egemond and Simmons report to the Drake's quartermaster immediately."

He pauses as if something has crossed his mind and he turns to his fellow captain. "Treyva, it may be useful for us to have an overwatch of sorts. Do you think one of your security officers could handle that duty?"

OOC: So, I ask this question, so we can figure out who is doing what. We can have all players take on a security officer from the Drake on the surface, or someone could play Lear or Fryling performing overwatch (and I'll make sure they have things to do).

Who wants whom? (Renny has Cole, for sure, and we know Tann-Tyra will be leading the Drake team supporting Styles' rescue effort; Patrick, did you have designs of playing her again?).
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

"Thank you, Styles," he replied. "I"ve had the good fortune to serve with some fine tactical officers, and I'm a quick study." He assumed the Deep Thinky posture for a moment. Without moving, he said, "Overwatch is probably a good idea."

He turned to Cole. "Task Fryling with that; the ship's sensors should be more than capable, and he's good at that sort of thing."

Sorry you have to stat out Fryling, but Lear's Focus of Starship Tactical Systems needs to stay on board

And yes, I was wanting to carry on as Tann-Tyra.

OOC: Sorry, I should've been more clear. I was thinking the overwatch would be from the ship, using sensors.
