And I'll need to fix it again so Nikolai can assist. *sigh*

"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

Davy, aka GM

OOC: 1 Success for Nikolai, and 2 Successes for Sorak. 3 Successes vs. adjusted Difficulty 0. Success, plus 3 Momentum generated. Acknowledging spend of 4 Momentum to increase power recovery to 5 points (1 base + 1 per Momentum spent). Ship's power is now 10.

The B'Rel begins to drift along its current course, no longer being propelled by its impulse engines. Miguel reports the Klingons are sending a communication in the clear.

A Klingon voice says, "Success, brothers! We who are about to die salute you!"

A few moments later, the scout explodes in a brilliant flash of light, thankfully distant enough that it doesn't threaten the Drake.

OOC: L-9A Helm Warp Task Control + Conn (9/2) vs Difficulty 0. Assisted by the ship's Engines + Conn (7/2).
Rolled 2d20 : 5, 17, total 22

L-9 A -
L-9 B -
Drake - Power Remaining 10/9, -1 Difficulty to hit in combat until Helm's next turn
I forgot to account for the power spent on the phaser attack. You should have 5 power left, instead of 6.

OOC: Oof. 0 Successes vs. Difficulty 3. Failure, shot misses (badly).

Of course, I screwed up. I meant to say that the ship was adding Momentum to fire a torpedo spread, but, since I didn't say so before rolling, I can't say it retroactively.

Adding 2 Momentum to player pool to counter Complication.

The Sabers warp in to firing range, the lead ship firing its disruptors and the other firing torpedoes. The disruptors lance closely to the Drake's hull, but the torpedoes streak far wide of their target.

OOC: Back to you folks. :)

Well, that answers the question "Should I be worried about the B'Rel falling into the atmosphere?" which I was about to ask....

My thoughts are...well, Saber A is right there, and they are Klingons, and they did shoot at us. I think we owe it to them to reciprocate. They'd be offended if we didn't.

OOC: Can we get a senior officer to direct Lear again so we can say hello to the Klingons in an appropriate fashion?

Davy, aka GM

OOC: Unfortunately, the Direct action is available only once per scene per Command role officer. Only Treyva and Sorak have that role in this scene, and they have both spent it.

Now, late-23rd Century ships allow helm officers to handle phasers, so Maria could take a shot, if you folks wish...

Renny

OOC: That sounds like an acceptable compromise...

Treyva watched the viewscreen as the Klingon frigates warped into position. As the enemy shots missed his ship, he said, "Maria, target the nearest ship and fire phasers!"

"Phasers, aye, sir," the helmsman repeats, her hands moving with practiced ease over her console to quickly configure phaser controls and let loose with a barrage.
