My brain is mushy, guys. Renny suggested off-forum that maybe we should surrender and try to get taken to the ones in charge, because we might be outclassed here. Any suggestions?

Renny

OOC: I just figured that if we keep this up, we are likely to lose. Alternatively, we fall back, beam out and regroup on the ship

Patrick Goodman

Yeah, that's an idea, too. Doug, Nolmir, what say you guys?

OOC: My brain's been pretty mushy lately too, so I don't know if I have much in the way of useful suggestions. But yeah, discretion might be the better part of valor here. But would that leave the Tyreen camp open to being overrun?

Ideally we'd be able to get reinforcements in to help the landing party out, but I don't see how to do that without beaming security officers in where they stand a good chance of being spotted.

Davy, aka GM

OOC: Your current situation is that you headed down hill to follow the retreat of the Apellan flanking maneuver. The landing party is actually somewhat detached from the main battle, and it's easy to see this flank is clear, aside from your current foes. The rest of the Apellans seem to be decently bottled up by Styles' tactical plan. Overall, the Tyreen are successfully holding the line.

You're facing a smaller number of better trained warriors. Yes, they could conceivably move up the flank if you abandon your position, but, tactically, given their ambush positions, they're more likely protecting the retreat than pushing ahead on their own.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Nolmir

OOC: Ah, thanks for clarifying that Davy. Well, Patrick and Renny's characters are the ones directly involved, but yeah, things aren't looking great. Surrender or retreat seem like better options than getting killed. Plus, if you surrender, then Sorak and Tobin might get a chance to big heroes!  ;) ;D

Davy, aka GM

OOC: Just a quick ping. What's Treyva going to do?
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

Can Treyva see a reasonable line of retreat from where he is, or would he be better off contacting the ship? Because if he can see it himself, it's going to be a hell of a lot quicker getting his people out of there.

OOC: The retreat back up the hill toward camp is clear. It's a bit exposed until you get back to your defensive point from during the flanking attack.

Can Cole and Kowalski move on their own, or are Dietrich and Tann-Tyra going to have to drag them?

OOC: They're both incapacitated. They'll need to be dragged or carried.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Renny

OOC: Given the exposed nature of their position, i'm reluctant to have Tann-Tyra go in to retrieve them as things stand as she's likely to end up as another casualty. Can we try and create Advantage for something like covering fire so we can get in there and get them out?

Davy, aka GM

OOC: Yes, you can spend Momentum to Create Advantage that would represent Cover Fire.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

I'll buy that Advantage with Threat.

Treyva looked to Ally. "We're outclassed," he said. Turning his attention down the hill, he shouted to Tann-Tyra and Dietrich, "Fall back! Get them out of there!"

I believe this is a Direct Task. What do I need to roll?

#1079
OOC: Adding 2 Threat to Create Advantage "Cover Fire."

Direct Action doesn't have an inherent task roll. You direct one character to perform a task, and assist on their attempt.

So, the task will be Fitness + Security vs. Difficulty 2 (reduced to Difficulty 1 by "Cover Fire"). Treyva will assist with Presence + Command.

Who is Treyva directing, Tann-Tyra or Dietrich?

Edit: Correct Treyva's assist. I had two disciplines.
