Once materialized on the surface, Ally pulled out her tricorder, verified it was set for comment operation and performed standards advance of the area. She noted the positions and condition off the pods, and scanned for life forms and energy traces.
"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

Davy, aka GM

OOC: Okay, let's go with a Reason + Science task, Difficulty 1 (reduced to Difficulty 0 by the tricorder)

OOC: 4 Successes vs. Difficulty 0. Success, plus 4 Momentum generated! 1 Momentum must be spent of lost.

Aside from the local insectoids and insectivores that seem to have taken up residence on and around the abandoned escape pods, they are devoid of life forms. All of the pods are also completely cold, power-wise, as if the onboard batteries have been removed.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Doug Burke

Shouldn't it be 4 Momentum, since the difficulty was lowered to 0 in the original description?

That being said, nice! Are the batteries something we could track by?

As it stands, I'm okay with banking the Momentum, either way.

OOC: My mistake. Fixed. Another mistake fixed. I should just quit while I'm behind.

Cole gestures up to the ridge.

"Scoot up there Chief and get us a look at the surrounding area. See if there's anything moving nearby."

He turns his attention to Ally, noting her quick scan of the pods.

"Ally, what have you found?"

Patrick Goodman

I've got a use for 1 point of that...or maybe Tann-Tyra will just do her own scan. Were there any indications of bodies left behind in the pods, or nearby graves if people didn't survive the pod landings?

She's not necessarily morbid, but she is thorough and curious.

OOC: We'll just call it an Obtain Information spend.

Tann-Tyra, verifying Ally's findings, determines there are no bodies within the capsules, and a quick sweep indicates no nearby graves. The crew who entered these pods left them.

Ally blushed and hurried to respond, "Sorry, sir. No humanoid life forms in or around the pods, and all the pods read zero power, as if the batteries have been removed. Standard basic forensic scans are also complete."

"Confirmed, sir," the young Deltan said as she looked up from her own tricorder. "No bodies in the pods, no nearby graves, so everybody appears to have survived the landing." She looked down at her tricorder again, a contemplative look on her face. "If they took all the batteries, it would indicate to me that they intend to keep their equipment running as long as possible. We could use the power signatures to home in them once we get closer." She looked at Ally. "Don't you think?"

Nolmir

"Well, that seems like a good sign, at least," Lear says, as he glances around the hill.

OOC: Are there any indications the natives have found/investigated the escape pods? (footprints, etc.)

"Excellent idea, Ensign," Cole affirms. "We'll head Northeast in the direction of the human life readings and you can run your scans when we get near."

Cole looked for Chief Dhall who was now a short distance up on the ridge. He slipped his communicator out from his pocket and flipped the grid open.
"Cole to Dhall. What can you see, Chief?"

She looked at Ally. "Don't you think?"

Ally nodded enthusiastically, "That was going to be my next suggestion, actually..."
