OOC: Okay, that gives Cole a total of 5 Work. How do you want to spend the 4 Momentum?

By the way, those 5 Work also reduce the Work track to 0, so you gents will achieve 2 Breakthroughs (which is the maximum number you can achieve in a single roll).

So, you don't need to spend any Momentum on Work this turn, so you can Create Opportunity for the first PC in the next round, or you can Create Disadvantage for the poor Apellans, or Create Advantage to help Styles and his team (something like Forces Drawn Away), or something else that helps in the future. (There's one more fight scene after this.)
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Patrick Goodman

IMO, we should absolutely take some of the heat off Styles. Hell, we have a metric buttload of Momentum here; can we do 2 different things to help him out?

OOC: Sure can. You have enough Momentum to create two Advantages. One could be "Reinforcements," representing Treyva or another member of the team encountering Tyreen and directing them to help Styles. The other can be the effect I mentioned earlier, Forces Drawn Away, representing the thinning of the Apellan "line" on the landing party's side of the fight. Feel free to be creative.
"Course, sir?"

Renny

OOC: I'm ok with spending Momentum to help Styles if everyone else is in agreement.

Nolmir

OOC: Yep, that sounds good to me too.

Doug Burke

"Plus who is going to be consoling Sorak there?"

"The commander raises a valid concern," Sorak replied with his usual aplomb, "As you can see, I am beside myself with worry."

Patrick Goodman

Okay, we all seem to be in agreement then. So let's for sure make the "Help Is On the Way" Advantage, where we get some Tyreen forces over to help Styles. Perhaps a Disadvantage for the Apellans, "Turning Tides" or some such, which gives them an increase in Difficulty in their endeavors against the Tyreens.

These sound good, guys?

OOC: 6 Work performed. 1 Breakthrough for additional work after clearing the work track. 1 Breakthrough for 5+ Work performed.

7 Breakthroughs achieved. Extended challenge won by the landing party.

Through a combined effort, the landing party is able to scatter the surviving members of the Apellan squad; they watch as the Apellans flee the field down the rocky hill, then move forward to ensure the remainder of the flank is clear. With Kowalski on point and Dietrich not far behind him, the party enters a graded area, a flat section of slightly above them to the left, and a drop-off to their right.

Kowalski holds up a hand and the rest of the officers and specialists stop in their tracks. He reacts to something up ahead, and a shot rings out.

OOC: Sorry to leave you gents in a cliffhanger, but I have to finish up the map for this final skirmish before continuing.
"Course, sir?"

"Out there...thataway."

Renny
